But what is their deal? Are they just eye-candy? Or are they just going around evoking sexual confusion because they’re not allowed to bet with the clan? Fun fact: Batsubami is not a manga character, and only appears in the anime. Just saying.īatsubami is hot: I mean, I always find myself somehow attracted to Romi Park’s characters (Romi, I see you girl), so I’m not that surprised to find myself thinking of Batsubami as charming. A person has been poisoned (even if she’s crazy enough to seem to be enjoying it, for the love of god!), just call the police and an ambulance, and get out of that weird-ass school! Also, just for the record, Suzui and Mary, if you find yourselves in such a situation, you just beat the shit out of everyone and get the antidote. The gambling they do is all about proving their relentlessness to each other, so why not let it manifest itself in other ways?Ībsolute neutrality my ass: I mean come on. Episode Highlightsīasic question: I don’t mean to pry but why don’t the kids around the academy just start fucking and killing each other? Clearly they’re all very horny (I mean they’re teenagers, who can blame them) and they all have some serious murderous drive. Yumeko’s last instructions to Suzui were to obey Mary blindly, and so he does he shows both her and all the other players his hand according to Mary’s command. Mary takes on the bet, wins a bunch of votes, then runs to Yumeko’s rescue. As she’s about to decline, she receives a call from Suzui, asking her to show up ASAP with a lot of votes to bet in her hands, so she can save Yumeko’s life, as she’s been poisoned by Miyo. As the game begins and is run by Yuna (the cosplaying runt), Mary (who I thought had very little role to play in this tournament) is invited to a bet by the vice president, Ririka.

For a moment my hopes are pretty high I’m expecting from Yumeko’s relatives to face her in the same way she’s facing them, as in Miyo not suffering a path a pathetic snot-filled defeat, but actually taking it in a graceful way. Miyo seems very excited to be meeting her distant relative Yumeko, but Miri is the usual party pooper who takes everything too seriously. She is up against Miri and Miyo, who have just defeated Yuriko. Yumeko is invited to another important bet by the council and the Momobami clan and Suzui naturally tags along. Isn’t that what we’re all here for, anyway? This week’s Kakegurui XX has been really good, bringing back some of the first season’s tension AND some extra paranoia just for the sake of it.
